dermatology

Greetings

As a core hospital in the western part of Kanagawa Prefecture, dermatology specialized examinations and treatments to meet the medical needs of patients, from common skin diseases such as eczema and tinea pedis to serious skin diseases such as benign and malignant skin tumors (skin cancers), psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, drug eruptions, autoimmune bullous diseases, and collagen diseases, while working in collaboration with nearby hospitals and clinics.

In addition to medical care itself, the roles that a university hospital must fulfill include education, training, and research. Based on our hospital's philosophy, we strive to cultivate doctors with rich character, broad perspectives, and a sense of mission based on humanism. At the same time, we are particularly focused on research in the fields of psoriasis and wound healing, and have reported our findings both domestically and internationally.

We provide medical care using the latest knowledge and treatment techniques to respond to patients' medical needs promptly and accurately.

Director dermatology
Tomotaka Mabuchi

Treatment details

In outpatient care, we have established specialized dermatology for intractable skin diseases such as psoriasis, palmoplantar pustulosis, and atopic dermatitis, where we select tests and treatments tailored to each patient's symptoms. In particular, in the psoriasis clinic, in addition to conventional topical treatments, we also offer phototherapy such as NB-UVB and bath PUVA, low-dose oral immunosuppressant therapy, and new treatments using biological agents. In other specialized clinics, we also strive to always provide the latest and most effective treatments.

Additionally, our department is one of the national research organizations that conducts numerous clinical trials of new drugs for psoriasis, autoimmune bullous diseases, etc. We will consider the effectiveness of treatment using new drugs in consultation with your doctor.
