Overview
At Cardiovascular Center, experts in Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery work closely together across departments to treat a variety of diseases as a heart team. In addition, we also have a multidisciplinary team of nurses, nutritionists, pharmacists, radiologists, physiological laboratory technicians, clinical engineers, physical therapists, clinical psychologists, and more, working together to create a larger framework to support patients. This remarkable heart team, built on multidisciplinary collaboration, is an advanced initiative, and our department is leading the nation. As an emergency medical institution that supports the local community, we provide a wide range of services, from treating acute cardiovascular diseases to providing better medical support during the chronic recovery phase.
Clinical service
1) Emergency care to acute disease
Several cardiovascular diseases require time-sensitive emergency treatment, such as acute myocardial infarction, aortic dissection, acute pulmonary embolism, etc. We are available to treat these diseases 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and can also quickly perform emergency surgery.
2) Advanced treatment
Treatment for cardiovascular disease is rapidly advancing, with advances being made in surgery, catheter-based therapy, and medical treatment for valvular disease, coronary artery disease, arrhythmia, and heart failure. Based on the latest information, the optimal treatment option is discussed at a heart team conference between cardiologists and cardiovascular surgeons, and information is shared with patients to determine the optimal treatment together with them.
3) Medical support system
In the treatment of heart failure, the prognosis has substantially improved with the development of medical treatment, but dietary, lifestyle, and medication guidance are becoming more important. We will support these through multidisciplinary collaboration.
4) Support during recovery
From our experience running the Comprehensive Support Center for Stroke and Heart Disease. in 2023 and 2024, we have heard from many patients about concerns about where to go for treatment and transfers, as well as financial worries. Our Patient Support Center will also address these concerns.
